About the show
Konradsen - the Norwegian duo of Jenny Marie Sabel and Eirik Vildgren - have established themselves as one of the most distinctive voices in contemporary Scandinavian alternative pop. Known for their poetic songwriting and richly detailed sound, they craft music where organic textures intertwine with subtle electronic elements, creating an expression that feels both intimate and expansive. Their breakthrough came with their 2019 debut Saints and Sebastian Stories, which won a Norwegian Grammy for Album of the Year (Indie/Alternative) and received widespread international acclaim from outlets including Pitchfork, Stereogum, The Fader, Clash and The Line of Best Fit. On stage, Konradsen have cultivated a deeply committed audience, selling out venues such as Kulturkirken Jakob and Parkteatret in Oslo. Their second album, Michael’s Book on Bears, earned a Norwegian Grammy nomination in 2025 for Alternative Pop, alongside artists like girl in red, AURORA and ULD.
Their new album, Hunt, Gather, represents a quiet but meaningful shift in both process and perspective. Work on the record began in parallel with the composition of an original score for a short film set in the northern Norwegian village where Jenny lives. As a result, the early studio sessions were shaped as much by the film’s world as by the album itself. Ideas, sketches and field recordings moved freely between the two projects, allowing atmosphere and intuition to guide the music in new ways. The album moves fluidly between the intimate and the cinematic: from small sound collages of everyday moments to expansive arrangements. Throughout, Hunt, Gather carries the imprint of Northern Norway, the place they both have returned to, and of a close-knit community of musical collaborators, including Gia Margaret, Angie McMahon and Bruce Hornsby.
