Following the success of their 2024 European tour, Western AF return to the UK this spring with three acclaimed singer-songwriters for a special show at The Rum Shack on Friday 22 May. Western AF is a live performance video channel dedicated to documenting independent country, folk and Americana artists for the archives of history. Renowned for its high-quality film and audio production and a focus on emerging and underground talent, the platform has become a vital showcase for some of today’s most compelling songwriters. Chris Acker – In a genre often shaped by tall tales and marketable myths, Chris Acker crafts candid, sharply observed songs. Blending wit with world-weary insight, his work shines an honest — and at times humorous — light on the modern American songster. Rachel Baiman – Known for her distinct blend of political and personal lyricism, Rachel Baiman has earned praise for her fearless songwriting. Vice’s Noisey described her style as “flipping off authority one note at a time.” Northcote – The musical project of Canadian singer-songwriter Matt Goud, Northcote pairs heartfelt songwriting with dynamic, engaging live performances.
